Return and refund policy
This policy explains when a return or refund is available for products you order from Custom Clearance Bars (operated by Fourth Dimension CNC). Because every bar we ship is custom manufactured to your specifications, this policy differs from what you may be used to with mass-produced goods. Our promise is simple: if we got it wrong, we remake it or refund it. Please read this policy in full before placing an order.
The short version
- Custom-manufactured bars are non-returnable once production has started.
- If your bar arrives with a manufacturing defect or is damaged in shipping, we will remake it or refund you at our discretion. You must report defects within 7 days of delivery.
- You may cancel for a full refund any time before production starts (order status "pending" or "paid", before we have cut materials).
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days of resolution.
Warranty
Every bar we ship is warranted to be free of manufacturing defects — wrong dimensions beyond published tolerance, wrong color or finish, missing or incorrect ordered features, and workmanship defects present at shipment — as defined in Section 2 below. If a bar fails that standard, we will remake it or refund it at our option, at no cost to you, including return-shipping on confirmed defects.
Defects must be reported within seven (7) days of delivery following the procedure in Section 3. Freight damage is covered under the inspection procedure in Section 4. This warranty does not cover damage from vehicle impacts (the bar is a warning device doing its job), improper installation, or use outside the bar's intended purpose — see Section 1.
If a vehicle strikes your bar, report it from your order page. We build the exact bar again ahead of the production queue at the normal price, and the report gives you a dated incident summary to send to the insurer of the vehicle that hit it.
1. Custom-manufactured products are non-returnable
Every clearance bar is built to your configuration — specific length, diameter, color, reflective options, custom text, and hardware selections. Because we cannot restock a bar that was made for your facility, we do not accept returns or refunds for:
- Change of mind after production has started.
- Ordering the wrong length, diameter, or color.
- Typographical errors in custom text that match exactly what you entered in the configurator or in a written confirmation email.
- Color appearing slightly different in person than on your screen. Monitor calibration varies; if exact color match matters to you, order a physical sample or submit a Pantone / Sherwin Williams / Benjamin Moore / Matthews code for us to match.
- Damage caused by improper installation, use outside of the bar's intended purpose (it is a warning device, not a vehicle barrier), or exposure to conditions beyond PVC's normal service range.
- Customer-requested specification changes made after production has begun, unless we are able to accommodate them without material waste (contact us and we will let you know).
2. What counts as a manufacturing defect
We will replace or refund, at our option, any bar that meets one or more of the following:
- Wrong dimensions — the bar's length or diameter differs from the ordered specification by more than our published manufacturing tolerance (±0.25 in. on length, ±1/16 in. on diameter).
- Wrong color or finish — the bar does not match the stock, premium, or custom color you ordered, verified by a representative photo under daylight conditions.
- Missing or wrong features — reflective tape, lettering, chain kit, or ceiling hooks differ from the ordered configuration.
- Workmanship defects — cracks, voids, poor end-cap bonding or adhesion, or other defects present at shipment.
- Freight damage that was noted on the bill of lading (BOL) at delivery and photographed on arrival. See Section 4.
3. How to report a defect
Within seven (7) days of delivery, email support@customclearancebars.com with the subject line "Defect Claim — [your order number]" and include:
- Your order number.
- A description of the defect.
- At least three clear photos: one of the shipping label, one showing the defect in detail, and one showing the full bar with a tape measure (for dimension claims).
- For freight damage: a photo of the BOL with the damage noted and signed by the driver.
We will respond within one business day and may ask follow-up questions. Once we confirm the defect, we will:
- Remake and ship a replacement at our expense, or
- Issue a full refund of the product price to the original payment method,
at our discretion, based on which resolution is faster and more appropriate. For confirmed defects we pay the return-shipping cost of the defective unit; we will send a freight BOL or prepaid label as applicable. Do not return a product without authorization — unauthorized returns will be refused at our facility.
4. Inspection on delivery
Freight damage claims are time-sensitive and depend on inspection at the point of delivery. When your shipment arrives:
- Inspect the pallet, crate, or bundle before signing the BOL.
- If you see visible damage, write "DAMAGED — subject to inspection" on the BOL before you sign. This is critical; carriers will deny claims signed as "clear."
- Take photos immediately.
- Contact us within 7 days, per Section 3.
Concealed damage — damage discovered after unpacking that was not visible at delivery — should still be reported within 7 days with photos. Concealed-damage claims are harder to win with carriers but we will do our best to resolve them on your behalf.
5. Cancellation before production
You may cancel an order any time before production begins. Production generally begins the business day after we receive confirmation that freight has been paid. While your order status in your account is "pending" or "paid" (before it changes to "cutting"), email us to cancel and you will receive a full refund of amounts paid, including freight if already charged.
6. Cancellation after production begins
Once the order status changes to "cutting" — meaning raw material has been cut to length — cancellation is handled case by case. We may be able to offer a partial refund, but we will charge for labor and materials already committed, typically between 25% and 100% of the product price depending on how far into production the order has progressed. Custom-color and custom-printed orders reach the "no refund" stage earlier than stock-color orders because material and ink are consumed during setup.
We will always tell you the exact remaining refundable amount before cancelling an in-production order. If the amount we can refund is zero, you may instead choose to let production complete and receive the bar.
7. How to request a refund
Email support@customclearancebars.com with the subject line "Refund Request — [your order number]" and a brief explanation. Include any supporting photos if the request relates to a defect. We will respond within one business day.
8. Refund processing time
Once a refund is approved, we process it the same or next business day back to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer typically takes 5–10 business days to post the credit. We cannot refund to a different payment method than the one used for the original purchase. Stripe's published refund timelines control if they conflict with this estimate.
9. Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank. We can almost always resolve issues faster through direct communication. Chargebacks filed without first contacting us may result in us pausing future orders from the account or business entity pending resolution.
10. Questions
If anything in this policy is unclear, please ask before you order. Email support@customclearancebars.com or visit our contact page.
