Accessibility statement
Custom Clearance Bars (operated by Fourth Dimension CNC) is committed to making our website and ordering process accessible to the widest possible audience, including people who use assistive technology. Safety equipment should be easy for anyone to buy. This page documents our current accessibility posture, known limitations, and the alternative ways you can place an order if the main site is not working for you.
Our commitment
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA is the benchmark referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice for ADA Title III compliance and is the standard required under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act for federal digital procurement. We treat it as the baseline, not the ceiling.
Accessibility is not a one-time project. We run automated scans on every deploy, we review new pages with keyboard-only navigation before release, and we track accessibility defects with the same priority as functional bugs.
What works today
- The site is fully navigable by keyboard. Every interactive element is reachable via Tab/Shift-Tab and has a visible focus indicator.
- Semantic HTML landmarks (
<main>,<nav>,<header>,<footer>) are used throughout so screen-reader users can jump between page regions. - Form inputs have associated
<label>elements and validation errors are announced to assistive technology. - Color contrast meets WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI components).
- Text can be resized to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Decorative images carry empty
altattributes; meaningful images carry descriptive alt text. - The site supports reduced-motion preferences (
prefers-reduced-motion): animations and parallax effects are minimized when the user has requested it at the operating-system level.
Known limitations
We want to be honest about where the site falls short. We are actively working to address each of these.
- The 3D bar configurator requires WebGL and a pointing device. The configurator on the /builder page uses three-dimensional visualization that is difficult to operate with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation. We expose every configurator option in an accessible form-control sidebar, but the live 3D preview itself is not readable by assistive technology. If the 3D preview is a blocker, use the alternative ordering path described below.
- Some third-party embeds are partially in our control. Stripe Checkout and the Stripe Invoice page are operated by Stripe, Inc. They conform to Stripe's published accessibility standards, which target WCAG 2.1 AA, but defects in those views are fixed on Stripe's schedule, not ours.
- Screen-reader testing is ongoing. We test with NVDA (Windows + Firefox) and VoiceOver (macOS + Safari, iOS + Safari) on our most-trafficked pages. Less-trafficked pages receive lighter testing. If you encounter a page that reads poorly with your assistive technology, please tell us — it is the fastest way for us to improve it.
- PDFs and generated documents (receipts, invoices, shipping bills of lading) may not always be tagged for accessibility. Request a plain-text alternative and we will send one.
Alternative ways to order
You do not have to use the 3D configurator to buy a bar. Email support@customclearancebars.com with the following specifications and we will reply with a written quote and a payment link:
- Length in inches (between 48 and 144).
- Diameter: 4", 6", 8", or 10".
- Color — stock (black, white), premium (safety yellow, red, blue, green), or a custom color code (Pantone, Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore, or Matthews).
- Optional reflective tape (stripe width and orientation), reflective text (message and color), chain kit, and number of ceiling hooks.
- Any custom text to be printed on the bar (and preferred font size).
- Your shipping ZIP and whether you need liftgate or inside delivery.
We will handle the full order this way — configuration, invoice, freight quote, and shipping — without you needing to use the configurator or checkout UI. The price we quote by email is the same as the price you would see online.
Reporting accessibility issues
If you encounter a page, feature, or document that is not accessible, or if you have a suggestion that would make the site easier to use, please tell us. Email support@customclearancebars.com with the subject line "Accessibility Feedback" and include:
- The page URL where the problem occurs.
- The assistive technology and browser you are using (for example, "NVDA 2024.1 on Firefox 127" or "VoiceOver on iOS 18, Safari").
- What you expected to happen and what actually happened.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within two business days and to resolve or provide a workaround for confirmed issues promptly. Critical blockers that prevent a user from completing a purchase are treated as P0 defects.
Standards and formal conformance
This site aspires to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. It has not yet been formally audited by a third-party certification firm; a third-party audit is planned. In the meantime we conduct our own testing with automated tools (axe-core, Lighthouse accessibility audits) and manual keyboard and screen-reader passes.
Ongoing work
- Building a fully accessible, non-3D "text configurator" as a first-class alternative to the 3D builder.
- Scheduling a third-party WCAG 2.1 AA audit.
- Expanding our screen-reader test matrix to include JAWS (Windows) and TalkBack (Android).
- Adding captions and transcripts to any video content we publish.
