Clearance bars for warehouses and loading docks
Prepare a clear specification for an entrance, loading area or overhead obstruction.
Where to start
8" Heavy. A heavier profile stands out to truck drivers sitting high in the cab. The builder preselects it; you can change it.
Take two measurements
- Opening width — the narrowest point between the walls or posts the bar spans. We cut the bar to leave 6" clear on each side.
- Lowest overhead point — from the driving surface to the lowest beam, pipe, sprinkler, sign or door track. We post a clearance 3" under it; the bar hangs with its bottom at that height. For example, a lowest point of 13' 9" prints CLEARANCE 13' 6".
Prepare a specification you can approve
- Record each opening and its site-approved wording separately.
- Check mounting locations, operating equipment and traffic direction with your installer.
- Include a project reference and the receiving site's delivery requirements.
A suspended clearance bar provides a visible warning. It does not determine a safe clearance height or certify an installation. Review your site's requirements with the responsible professional.

From design to purchase
The builder ends on a review of every choice. Enter the quantity and delivery ZIP to see the delivered price, then add the bar to your cart, download a submittal package, or share a link so someone else can review the exact specification. Production follows payment and your approval of the specification.
